Golden Maiden

One day Zeus and Hera got into an argument, over Zeus birthing Athena from his head (and with no need for Hera). In spite to Zeus, Hera in all her Greek divinity, made herself give birth to a son, and she named him Hephaestus.

When Zeus figured out what Hera did, he yanked up the little baby and tossed him down from Mount Olympus with such great power that the immortal godling's leg was permanently broken (which TOTALLY should not have happened).

During his time on Earth, he was taken into the care of the Nereids, the nymph daughters of the sea god Nereus. He took up some trades, and over time, he became the greatest crafter of all time.

Necklaces, statues, machines, etc. But his best inventions and crafts he saved for himself. Particularly, a group of beautiful female-shaped automatones called Kourai Khryseai or "Gold Maidens" that he forged from pure gold (YES, the ancient Greeks imagined robots, too); they helped him move around (because of the eternally broken leg) and basically catered to his every whim.

Being a guy, this is what I think he'd make them look like.
